Suncor Firebag – U&O Stage 3 Firewater

Project Description: 

For Suncor’s Stage 3 insituexpansion at the Firebagsite, CarmacksGroup was contracted to perform the installation of firewater system for the new administration complex. Other works included site grading for parking lot construction. 

Underground Firewater System Expansion

Project Description: 

The Suncor Firebagsite required an expansion to the firewater system for a new sulphurrecovery unit. 

Excavation activities were performed to expose the existing firewater system and tie-ins were completed for the installation of new isolation valves and fire hydrant assemblies. 

The work was executed with no disruption to the operating plant and minimal down time on the firewater system.

Suncor Firebag COGEN – Firewater Expansion

Project Description: 

Upgrades to the existing firewater system were required to provide fire protection for Suncor’s cogeneration facility and administration complex. The scope of work consisted of excavation, fabrication, installation, testing, and backfill of new firewater system within an existing network of live high voltage electrical utilities. Working closely with TransAlta, the utility crossings were completed safely and the project was completed on schedule.
